You can set up Windows Media Player 10 to sync the type of media you want every time you connect a portable media center to your PC. Install Windows Media Player 10 on your PC. Use the USB 2.0 cable that came with your PMC to connect the portable media center to your PC. Windows Media Player automatically detects that a portable device is attached. Asks whether you would like to sync the device using Windows Media Player. Click OK to run through the setup. The Sync Wizard opens and gives you the opportunity to configure the sync settings. If a Security Upgrade Required dialog box appears, click OK to accept the upgrade. Windows Media Player syncs all selected audio, video, recorded TV and image files to the portable media center, including album art for CDs. Windows Media Player may convert some files into an appropriate format for playback on your portable media center. When synchronization is complete, the "Items to synchronize" panel will show the number of items that have been synchronized. A Roman toilet amid the ruins in Ostia, Italy. The Romans' plumbing technology probably could've come in handy during the Dark Ages. Although certain documentaries are fond of trotting out ancient aliens or other fringe theories to explain our ancestors' advancements, in truth, we need reasons no more far-flung than the fact that ingenuity is humanity's oldest quality. Left to our own devices and allowed to exist without constant fear of death by hunger or violence, we devise some startling stuff - even if some of our better efforts don't outlast our calamities. Then again, sometimes they do. The Western world's progress was knocked back centuries by the Dark Ages, but the Greek and Roman knowledge it lost - some examples of which you'll find in these pages - later found its way back to the Europe via the Islamic world, where in the meantime it had helped spawn a golden age. Conversely, some answers are lost because the relevant question hasn't yet been asked, or because a better answer shoves it into the dustbin of history.|This is one of the protein puzzles that gamers may face when they play Foldit. Click here to see a larger view of this picture. Playing video games isn't exactly rocket science but, thanks to Foldit, it can be molecular biology. Sort of. Solo and in teams, these amateur analysts vie to crack the most perplexing puzzles vexing molecular biologists today: how individual proteins and their component amino acids fold. It's no wonder such a buzz ensued when a 2011 publication in the journal Nature Structural & Molecular Biology reported that Foldit players had unraveled a key protein in Mason-Pfizer monkey virus (MPMV), the simian version of HIV, that had stymied researchers for more than a decade. Like John Henry versus the steam hammer or Garry Kasparov versus Deep Blue, Foldit players showed that humans still have a thing or two to teach machines; unlike Henry, who died, or Kasparov, who lost in a rematch, the protein-folding gamers still have an edge over the brute-force number crunching of supercomputers. casos de coronavirus en el mundo
